AMON AMARTHSKC, Beograd - 05.07.2009.Already previously there were some talkin’ about the posability that mighy Viking horde Amon Amarth are going to visit us in Belgrade and finally it happened. It was a hot day, I still remember well, and the last night was alos sleepless (we had already organized one concert by ourselves). So, obviously we were kind of tired or shoud I say sleepy. The support band was Awaiting Fear, Belgrade-based group. The group playes some sort of Death-Grind Metal. And althoguh the fact that I have some long-time friends in AF I don’t thing that they have perfectly holding well with Amon Amarth. The problem is that through Amon Amarth are consider themselves as Death Metal band they are more adoured by Power, Pagan or melodic Metal fans and AW shoud be a perfect support for Cannibal Corpse and more raw and brutal groups. But, to tell you the truth we do not have still such a band who can musically stand as a support troop for AA. Nonethless, Amon Amarth has destroyed the main hall of SKC. They appreantice was great, yet brutal and the music fantastic. They played almost all hit-tracks from their various full-lengths and rich discography. This was kind of varation show because they played one great song and then there was a break with one less popular track. But this strategy was actually cool one, because evreyone in the public could take a rest and focus more on their visual preformance (if anyone who might read this havn’t seen they playing live I can only note that they are really looking like Vikings that have just come out from they long Dragon-ships). Ok, as everyone has expected, the focus (more or less) was on the promoting of their latest record ’’Twilight of the Thunder God’’. The comunication with the public was fantastic but the only problem was that there wasn’t so much people inside the hall. I can only guess that there were more then 300 tickets sold which is definitly a samller crown. Onyl the first two lines in the front of the stage were full so I one could easly run thoguout whole SKC hall. The show was longing apoximatly around one and half hours which was sure a fine dose o metal for any fan. I have bang my head and hanging around until I was completly burn-out. The final stage of my loss of enegry was the second bis with mighy hit-track ’’Death in Fire’’. When they started the opening tunes of this song whole crown begone to lose themselves so I did the same. For the clossure I can onyl add that this was a great and furious live preformance and that I cannot wait to see them alive somewhere again.
