HYPOCRISY: ''End of Disclosure''19.04.2013.
Every time when Hypocrisy released their new issue there's huge impact on the made and fans.More then 20 years peter & co. have never failed to produce furious record. Although that some of their albums were not ''as best as'' other of their records, I think that the most of their records are the most brilliants ones. In meantime, Hypocrisy have proved themselves to be one of the best band son the stage. Their mixture between brutality and melodious riffing is more then characteristic ! They are Masters of their art !
So, ''End of Disclosure'' is their brand new record and this particular issue brings fantastic songs with apocalyptic atmosphere and dramatic feeling. ''End of Disclosure'' actually really sound like ''The Arrival'' but its more brutal piece of work. The songs are still very catchy, but also the record do not lucks of freshest and brutality.
The production, which is indeed bombastic one, also brings some freshness to their style.
As usual, the albums offers the scale from almost ballad-like songs to the most brutal riffs. Probably some of the songs will surly become blast on the stage. Also, this time, more then ever before, the lyrics are playing even more bigger role, since they are dealing with present situation. Someone has say that the new album of Hypocrisy somehow remains him on the latest effort of Kreator, and obviously they are some links, that's for sure.
If you want a dose of the most aggressive melodies and a dose of apocalyptic vision then ''End of Disclosure'' will provide you with both. Nevertheless, ''End of Disclosure'' is well crafted record and one more great offering in the legacy of Peter & co.

THYRFING: De Odeslosa 19.04.2013.
Follow this particular band since they have released their second full-length ''Valder Galga''. I was thinking that they do have reached their best moments in the career but, it seems that the things are quite different and that these guys from Sweden still have so much to offer.
Thyrfing's music has changed though time, not so dramatically, but yet changes from their second issue to the latest one are more then obvious. Although I do love their first recordings I think that the brand new effort is the most matured one. Their style could be described as well balanced music ''dwelling'' somewhere between Black and Viking/Pagan Metal. I think that this is the closes description, and furthermore I could write that their style is very close now to Moonsorrow's one. Even more, I think that their latest product is even better comparing to the last album of Moonsorrow.
Thyrfing's songs have now become longer and slower comparing then before, but also more dramatic and atmospheric, I would say. The atmosphere is pulsing with dramatic tunes and the vocals (being more growls then screams with something really weird in the voice) are probably the most suitable for their music so far. Brand new offering sound in the same time: monumental and mournful. The keyboards are slower, but, yet they are the leading instrument, with the rawer sound of guitars as well. The temp is also slower or mid-tempo one. The keyboards, also together with mid-tempo drums are bringing to atmosphere even more ''edge''. Aside of creating the grim atmosphere, keyboards are also folk influenced.
Thyrfing have very successfully to create one really great and serious piece of work. Lovers of Pagan and Black Metal should definitely check out this release. Thyrfing's brand new record has so much to offer !

VREID Welcome Farewell19.02.2013.
Norwegian pitch black brigade Vreid is back with their 6th full length entitled Welcome Farewell and long ago it has become quite unnecessary to describe them as that band that rose out of the ashes of Windir: Vreid has become a force to be reckoned with on the metal scene with series of respectable albums, 2011's V being the most successful one. That album was permeated with Strom's masterful leads that elevated Vreid to the new level of catchiness which is always welcome in my eyes so it was question to see how will Vreid follow their best one so far. Luckily, the repeat of the same formula was not the option for this troop so Vreid has issued one very malevolent album at this point of their status which is a thing for respect! Hváll has described Welcome Farewell as “dark, heavy and Vreid“ which is absolutely the best way to speak of this release, so let me elaborate on this a little bit... First off, Welcome Farewell is considerably darker than V, maybe that approach came from lyrical content which concentrate on existential short stories – quite different feat than World War themes that Vreid dabbled in before. Anyway, that content tranferred onto the music which is coniderably more into black metal than before but Welcome Farewell is still one damn heavy affair taking cues from heavy and thrash bands of the past and celebrating the Riff which is sadly forgotten art in extreme metal nowadays. So when you take all of this into consideration you can understand that this album, although slightly different than before, is Vreid to the core so this band continues down the path they have set some 10 years ago. The album is short and very atmospheric but in the same time very headbangable so you can either stand up and engage or lay down and get lost in it while listening, all in all one damn good album in all possible aspects!

ATTIC ''The Invocation'' Ván Records CD05.02.2013.
It is my great honor to announce the beginning of cooperation with mighty Ván Records, label with very refined taste and roster full of cool troops! Here we have the opportunity to review the debut album of German horde Attic, one of the mightiest newcomers on heavy metal scene in recent tims; seriously when I come to think of it only Enforcer debut is in line of quality displayed on The Invocation. From Ván, the label that has brought to the world The Devil's Blood and Year Of The Goat comes one band that is same in spirit but different in delivery... if we need to pigeonhole The Invocation it could be easily said that Attic play old styled heavy metal, and to be precise to the maximum they are faithfully following the footseps of godly Mercyful Fate and King Diamond. Now, I can already hear some people crying out loud RIP OFF and that could be the biggest problem with The Invocation – the originality is second to none, Attic have taken all the elements of Mercyful Fate into their own. From wailing guitars, slightly complicated song arrangements, occult thematics down to the most important element – the voice. For sure lion's share of Fate's appeal lies in vocals of Kim Bendix Petersen who is one of the most original and recognizable voices that ever graced metal, and Attic's own Meister Cagliostro does his best to relive King into the music found on The Invocation. You could accuse Attic for all of this but I would say – so what? Mercyful Fate is inactive for more than a decade, King's last studio album was unleashed almost 6 years ago so it is good thing that we have some new bands carrying the torch of true metal. Maybe I am a bit biased since King is my all time favourite musician but I can never get enough of this kind of metal, and Attic do it on very high level! All the songs are masterfully done, The Invocation is brimming with righteous atmosphere and everything is just like it should be here. For the proof of my words check out Funeral In The Woods, Join The Coven, The Headless Horseman... shit, as I am typing this I have just realized that each and every song has something good to offer. Final conclusion – if you dig Mercyful Fate / King Diamond chances are slim that The Invocation will not appeal to you so welcome Attic on the scene right next to Portrait and In Solitude, new cult is born!

Brutal Assault announces new names: CARCASS, ENSIFERUM, SYLOSIS 05.02.2013.
British extreme metallers CARCASS have been confirmed for this year’s Brutal Assault Festival. Reactivated grindcore legends are putting the finishing touches on their first studio album in 17 years with acclaimed producer Colin Richardson. Guitarist Bill Steer said: „People can expect to hear a fairly different Carcass set, the old favourites will in there, of course, but we’re also planning to play a couple of the less obvious tracks from our past, as well as songs from the album we’ve just completed.“
Another confirmed bands are Finnish Viking/folk metallers ENSIFERUM and British melodic death/thrash metallers SYLOSIS.

Brutal Assault news:01.02.2013.
Suffocation has ever belonged to the group of major death metal bands and to the most periodically recurring headliners of BRUTAL ASSAULT. A recently published song has shown, who sits on the imaginary death metal throne and you will definitely find it out this year seeing them with their former vocalist Frank Mullen.
D.R.I. - the living contemporaries of Huston, will whirl up the dust under legs of all the lovers of festival motion. They may even play songs from a forthcoming album which has been anticipated for a while.
French post black metal romantics Alcest made a great success last year but that's not the only reason why we will invite them in the fortress again.

NECROWRETCH Purid Death Sorcery 25.01.2013.
Here we have eagerly awaited (in the underground at least) debut album of French old school death metaller Necrowretch and they are already on mighty Century Media, the label that took the wave of resurgence for classic death metal with signing bands such as Sonne Adam, Morbus Chron and Necrowretch who are hailing as heirs to the throne of Massacra and Aggressor. Main mission of frontman Vlad (vocals and guitars) for his whole life was to writ his own Scream Bloody Gore, the most influental album for him ever, so you can only figure out how would Necrowretch sound – sick, dirty and mean are the words here! Ripping Souls Of Sinners opens the show here and the track kicked me in the nuts straight away with its possessed riffing, fast paced drums and blackish vocals – true blackened death metal right there, excellent! The rest of the album follows the suit while being more on the death metal side of the spectrum to be honest, this band firmly belongs to death metal genre. Allegedly Putrid Death Sorcery is sort of conceptual album about perverted priest destroying souls which is just fitting thematics for one death metal release. I found that band has well noticed some South American hotness in promo sheet as their music does carry that crazy intensity, mixed with headbanging mania of mentioned bands from France and finally spiced up with some good old Swedish morbidity be it the side of Dismember or old Necrophobic, it does not matter. All in all, while playing highly limited genre Necrowretch have managed to found a little niche for themselves and I hope that they will further develop it and not fall prey to any shitty trend. I could not actually call them newcomers since I follow them for some time but I guess that wider metal audience will get exposed to them for the first time with Putrid Death Sorcery and I sincerely hope that this fine horde will get some attention with the help of Century Media as they are absolutely worthy!
