ABINCHOVA

Self-released CD

Abinchova is yet another act that is coming from Switzerland and that is playing some sort of mixture between Death metal and Folk music. Aside of Death Metal influences their music also have some obvious Black Metal origins as well, but, all in all, one could notice a strong parallel between this band and their country-mates Eluveitie. But, as a matter of fact, as I have just added, their music is less Swedish Death Metal based and it has more links with raw but yet melodic style. Also, there are less of folk influences in their music but yet somehow their style is folk and catchy. But, somehow I like more their way of playing because it has some BM elements within. And the entire idea is indeed nice since the music is more based on guitars. Their debut full-length is based on folk influenced guitar's harmonies and some fine guitar's riffing. CD comes in the nice digi-pack and the visual aspect goes really great with the music. It is not so bombastic but everything is on its place which I really like. Here and there, you will be able to catch some violins or keyboard's lines in the background, but what really counts here are the furious guitar's riffs and outstanding energy. Most of the songs are indeed strong, but sometimes, here and there, you will find some more peaceful tunes as in the track ''Heimatlos''. This track is probably the best one on the entire record and I think that is one of the most melodic. The vocals are classical BM. But, anyhow very well done screams! So, Switzerland has proved once again that it has some interesting bands to offer! Abinchova definitely has some interesting details to offer and some quality ideas to share. Nice work, just keep on going!
