FEENIKSSYNESTESIAKampas Records CDWell, what we have here is one more band from almighty Finland, the country that produces definitely the most successful metal groups 8if not the best). Svenstesia performs some kind of melodic death metal. I don’t know why but it remains me a lot on Sentenced and their great and above all original album Amok. Quite sure music is not the same one, there are also differences when it comes to production, but indeed this is kind of melodic DM that so specific for Amok era. Listener could find some nice atmospheric parts, cool guitar riffs and very catchy melodies. Tracks have a great touch of monument with catchy refrains. Songs are definitely composed with lots of taste and interesting solutions. Well, of course there are innovative pieces and progressive parts with touch of modern sound. Vocals are totally recorded in a grow-like way. Once again, I need to mentioned, that they remain me somehow on earlier never-forgotten Sentenced. Sometimes there appear some clean, almost shimmering female voices. The production is clear, strong and groovy which greatly goes with the whole music concept. So, all in all, this is a cool piece of work. Of course, it isn’t masterpiece, but, on the other hand, I cannot find any parts that I dislike.
