TRANSYLVANIANOX ARCANAwww.MonolithGraphics.com CDRecord ’Transylvania’ is more focused and based upon the stories of Bram Stocker and myths from Transylvania about Vampires, Mistresses of the Night, Gypsies and other sinister beings that dwell in eternal night. So the music is less bombastic and too obviously more written in the mystic and obscure manner. Do I need to mention ever-present gothic aura? This album should be perfectly suited as a ultimate soundtrack for the horror movies based on topics about Count Dracula & co. There are 21 tracks on this CD which is the standard when it comes to NA releases. Most of them are shorter instrumentals, very specific for Nox Arcana, but two or three titles are longer compositions, such as it is the case with ’Grand Masquerade’. The main goal was to create a monumental, gothic-like and dreamy atmosphere. The music really reminds me on some Cradle of Filth’s instrumentals, especially from their 90s era. The booklet is nicely done, in romantic manner, together with some perfectly suitable illustrations. ’Transylvania’ is yet another stone in the musical tower of NA. So, just take a step forward and cross the border of dream & reality. The Victorian midnight tales and adventures full of blood, dark romanticism perfectly wrapped in gothic aura await!
