LUTEMKRAT - The Last Survivor

THE LAST SURVIVOR

LUTEMKRAT

Bleak Art CD

This particular CD was actually published some 2 (or even more) years back. It was released during 2007. The music could be described as a symbiosis between Taake and Burzum. I would actually say that it is more Taake oriented then Burzum but, here and there, one can clearly notice some ambient influences. These influences are very similar to Burzum's music. All music is written and composed by only one man. But, being one-man-band hasn't brought anything bad to Lutemkrat. Album 'The Last Survivor' has many variations and different elements. Of course, it is wrapped in coldish black metal spirit, but constant exchange of riffs is the best way to describe this material. Obviously the music is rooted in Norwegian old-school sound, raw but still melodic guitars. Without any experiments Wolf Lutemkrat has taken one musical journey, a trip towards the frozen horizons. Aside of electric instruments, Wolf uses (rarely but very effectively) some acoustic guitars. Alongside of musical aspect, the visual side was also important. So, the whole layout including the cover artwork is very effectively done. I would not dare to say that this is a must for any BM fan, but those who are into old-school sound should definitely check this full-length.
