WINTER'S EVE
NOX ARCANA
Monolith Graphics CD
''Winter's Eve'' is the latest effort and perhaps the most peaceful one when it comes to Nox Arcana. It's actually the second of a planned trilogy of the winter holiday albums composed by Nox Arcana, following the theme of their ''Winter's Knight'' release which was published back in 2005. Instead of horror-like, nightmarish, dramatic and eerie-cold atmospheres which are so characteristic for this band this time you are going to sail through the realm of the snow and forgotten winter dreams. You're going to be catched in the vibe of invisible winter's spells and and wrapped in the cloak of the frost and beautiful star-dust. And although that the main motive of this particular record is the winter coldness once when you enter the realm of winter stars you're going to feel very warmly and dreamy. ''Winter's Eve'' in wholeness saturate with some of the finest and enchanted piano passages. Here and there, you are going to be able to hear some mysterious rings and chorals. This is yet another more peaceful piece of work from Joseph Vargo, a master of Nox Arcana, but there are few other more virtuous tracks as well. This magical elements will awake you for a moment from enchanted sleeping. The title song has also some clean vocal parts. This track is perfectly suiting for winter's evenings and long nights. Obviously, this time, Joseph has offered us some more snow inspirited drownings with some wolves, owls and other animals that are luring behind the white trees. Nicely done cover artwork will welcome you on your trip to white kingdom and beyond. This time Joseph Vargo & co. offers you yet one more wonderful journey though frozen winter landscapes. So, wrap yourself warmly and start the dance though the kingdoms of tranquil emotions and snow-white forests and hills!
