BRUTAL
THE DAY EVERYTHING BECAME NOTHING
No Escape Records CD
Band name and album artwork really haven’t promised anything, I almost expected this one to be some modern quasi intellectual metal stuff, but fortunately I was wrong. Cover is all white on one side, but other side has a picture of a band members, two of them drinking whiskey and beer, one is counting the money, other one is reading the business newspaper and the last but not the least is leant on the Mercedes with Brutal plates. This picture clearly doesn’t tell what is their music all about. TDEBN comes from Australia; they play something which can be described as a modern groove gore grind. Don’t get me wrong this ‘modern’ is due to perfect production; don’t expect to find some commercial shit here, only brutal gore grind that will blow you away. TDEBN’s low tuned guitars and (pitch shifted) vocals remind me of German Cock and Ball Torture, song structures are also similar. If you like to know what any band sings about and you want to find some deeper meaning in lyrics, don’t bother trying to find it here, there are no lyrics printed even more there are no track titles at all, there are just numbers from 1 to 10. This album sometimes sounds monotonous (but not to much monotonous and especially not as CBT’s Egoleech) and this can be only remark.
